Regina is a favorite. Tall, strong and with great breed character, she has always been a standout. Molly has always been a favorite, so when her breeding to Valence produced triplet does, we were thrilled. We are very excited about this combination and have retained two of them to see how they freshen. While Molly has the type and style that makes her a lovely sight gliding across the field, Valence holds an abundance of milk and strength. We are very excited to see these does freshen as yearlings.
2014 Update: Ok, Regina is STILL a favorite. She freshened this year with a lovely udder, especially from the rear. She has continued to grow into herself and is becoming a large, deep bodied doe. She is also doing very well in the milk department peaking at 6.4 lbs. She and her sister are our top yearlings this year. We had planned on picking one of them to keep, but we like them so well that we have decided to retain both and let Molly go instead! Look for more from this pair in the future.
2015 Update: Regina blossomed a lot this year. Her mammary is simply beautiful! High, wide in the rear, beautiful teat size and delineation. The most balanced we've ever bred. She peaked at over 10# this year as a two year old and that with having a single kid. What more could we ask for in this beautiful doe. At appraisals she did very well, seeing she freshened two hours before being appraised!! The appraiser said that she would have scored 90 if she wouldn't have freshened that day! We took her out to the NEWDGA show this year and she was 2nd in two rings and 3rd in the other ring. She was a less than one week fresh at the show.
2016 Update: Regina had another fabulous year. She is continuing to mature into the doe we hoped she would be. She peaked at 10# this year. She gave us two wonderful doelings. We have decided to retain one of them. Since Regina was a pet of Sarah's, we named the doeling princess Sadie in her memory. Regina is due for March kids. We look forward to seeing her freshen "early" this year.
